Hiring the Arena
Getting to the Arena
From the A696 North
At the Knowesgate Motel turn left.  Follow the road to the T-junction and turn right towards Cambo and Wallington.  In Cambo turn left to Scots Gap.  Go through Scots Gap and take the first right.  Turn left at the next junction towards Middleton Village.  Go through Middleton, then under the old railway bridge and up the hill.  At the next junction turn right and follow the road (single track) past Marlish Farm on your right and past the turn to Hartburn and the turn to High Angerton.  Go past Angerton Hall and down the hill and through Low Angerton.  You will go past Angerton Station on your left and then Angerton Steads is the next drive up the hill.  The drive up to the arena is at a sharp right hand bend and is well marked.  

From the A696 South
Follow the A696 to Belsay.  As you are coming through the village there is a right turn with two exits – take the left hand one of these signposted to Scots Gap.  Follow the road until the first junction, which is at the corner of Bolam Lake and is signposted to Hartburn.  Turn right at this junction and follow the road for about a mile and a half.  The drive up to Angerton Steads Training Arena is at a sharp left hand bend and is well marked.

From the A1 North
For lightweight vehicles – take the first turn off the A1 to Morpeth.  Just before the JET garage att he bottom of the slip road turn right and then immediately left towards Stanton.  Take the first left turn to Mitford.  At the bottom of the hill turn right into Mitford at the T-junction.  Follow this road along past the Plough in Mitford and keep going past the Dyke Neuk public house and keep going until you reach Hartburn village.  In Hartburn turn left at the war memorial and then first left again.  At the next T-junction turn left and follow the road down the hill past Angerton Hall, through Low Angerton and past Angerton Station on the left.  Angerton Steads Training Arena is up the hill on the next sharp right hand bend.  The entrance is well marked.

For heavy horseboxes – take the first turn off the A1 to Morpeth and follow the road down the hill towards the town.  Turn right at the junction signposted to Mitford and follow the road all the way through Mitford, on past the Dyke Neuk public house and keep going until you reach Hartburn Village.  In Hartburn turn left at the war memorial and then first left again.  At the next T-junction turn left and follow the road down the hill past Angerton Hall, through Low Angerton and past Angerton Station on the left.  Angerton Steads Training Arena is up the hill on the next sharp right hand bend.  The entrance is well marked.

From the A1 South
Take the first turn off to Morpeth.  As you come into Morpeth take the road signposted to Whalton.  Follow this road until you get to Whalton Village.  In the Village turn right up the hill just past the Beresford Arms.  Follow this road until the T-junction signposted to Hartburn.  Turn right at this junction and follw the road for about a mile.  The drive up to Angerton Steads Training Arena is at a sharp left hand bend and is well marked.
